Thursday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time

Today, in the tragedy of a #pandemic, in the face of the many false securities that have now crumbled, in the face of so many hopes betrayed, in the sense of abandonment that weighs upon our hearts, Jesus says to each one of us: “Courage, open your heart to my love”.

Pope Francis

The case turns on whether the courts should relax long-standing FDA-imposed restrictions on the drug mifepristone, which is commonly used in medication abortions, in order to make the drug easier to obtain during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Supreme Court is already considering another threat to abortion rights

do i have the courage to state that even though my conscience cannot support donald trump’s re-election, i certainly respect those whose conscience support him based on his anti-abortion stand alone?

Today’s Scriptures

Brothers and sisters:

Knowledge inflates with pride, but love builds up.

If anyone supposes he knows something,

he does not yet know as he ought to know.

But if one loves God, one is known by him.

1 COR 8:1B-3

R. (24b) Guide me, Lord, along the everlasting way.

Truly you have formed my inmost being;

you knit me in my mother’s womb.

I give you thanks that I am fearfully, wonderfully made;

wonderful are your works.

PS 139:13-14AB

“Stop judging and you will not be judged.

Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.”

LK 6:37
