In the #GospelOfTheDay (MT 18:21-35), Jesus exhorts us to open ourselves courageously to the strength of forgiveness, because not everything in life can be resolved with justice: there’s a need for merciful love.

Today’s Scriptures, Quotes and Questions
You no doubt have heard of or perhaps even read the now infamous
Bishop Zurek, “A Reflection on Christian Life”
accusations against myself, your Rector and the associate Rector. These were
obviously made by ‘a few’, emphasis on a few, souls that appear to be quite
restless.
can you find it in your heart, Your Excellency, to show mercy on us, “a few”, and remove your letter of rebuke, “A Reflection on Christian Life” from the diocesan website?
Could anyone refuse mercy to another like himself,
can he seek pardon for his own sins?
SIR 28:4
We who follow Christ as
Bishop Zurek, “A Reflection on Christian Life”
Christians are called to be the “Light of the world”; yet “a few” of our
number have allowed the secular influence to dominate their life and hence
their light has dimmed.
can you be a “Light of the world”, Your Excellency, to “a few”, and remove your letter of rebuke, “A Reflection on Christian Life” from the diocesan website?
R. The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich in compassion.
He will not always chide,
nor does he keep his wrath forever.
PS 103:8-9
Third is the constant mantra, “all the priests hate the bishop.” If anything, this behavior of “the Few” has strengthened the sense of brotherhood among us priests.
Bishop Zurek, “A Reflection on Christian Life”
can you not further strengthen the sense of brotherhood among you priest, Your Excellency, by dying to yourself and forgiving “the few” who who said “all the priests hate the bishop”, and remove your letter of rebuke, “A Reflection on Christian Life” from the diocesan website?
Brothers and sisters:
None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself.
For if we live, we live for the Lord,
and if we die, we die for the Lord;
ROM 14:7-8
I must also remind you that this behavior of “the few” is having a
Bishop Zurek, “A Reflection on Christian Life”
definite effect in regard to the promotion of vocations to the priesthood.
can you not promote vocations to the priesthood, Your Excellency, by forgiving “the few” whose behavior denigrated it, and remove your letter of rebuke, “A Reflection on Christian Life” from the diocesan website?
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
I give you a new commandment, says the Lord:
love one another as I have loved you.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
JN 13:34
This is a clear indication that this one of “the few” has no intention to stop causing division in the Body of Christ. His line is
Bishop Zurek, “A Reflection on Christian Life”
quite clear; he only wants division and disunity…Now that I have finished part of my experience with this “the few” I
need to address you who are not part of them.
as one of “the few”, Your Excellency, how many times will i need to ask for forgiveness until you remove your letter of rebuke, “A Reflection on Christian Life” from the diocesan website and heal the division at St. Mary’s Cathedral?
“Lord, if my brother sins against me,
how often must I forgive?”
