Saturday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time

ENCYCLICAL LETTER
FRATELLI TUTTI
OF THE HOLY FATHER
FRANCIS
ON FRATERNITY AND SOCIAL FRIENDSHIP

CHAPTER ONE

DARK CLOUDS OVER A CLOSED WORLD

LACKING A PLAN FOR EVERYONE

A “throwaway” world

18. Some parts of our human family, it appears, can be readily sacrificed for the sake of others considered worthy of a carefree existence. Ultimately, “persons are no longer seen as a paramount value to be cared for and respected, especially when they are poor and disabled, ‘not yet useful’ – like the unborn, or ‘no longer needed’ – like the elderly. We have grown indifferent to all kinds of wastefulness, starting with the waste of food, which is deplorable in the extreme”.[13]

However, I live in Hope! St. John wrote; “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (Jn. 1:5 – Prologue)

Bishop Patrick J. Zurek

Questions continue around film’s use of pope’s quote on civil unions

Pope Francis speaks with Valentina Alazraki of the Mexican television station Televisa during an interview that aired in May 2019. A clip, apparently cut from the interview and shows Pope Francis talking about “civil unions,” is used in the documentary “Francesco” by Evgeny Afineevsky. comfortable catholics in fear, “go to Mass ‘only to be seen’ or to show off”, and judge themselves “worthy of a carefree existence” with no need of the pope’s cultivation and fertilization; thus bearing no fruit in the future

socialist-catholics in fear search for a “carefree existence” and take the pope’s cultivation and fertilization out of context by hearing that LGBT people “have a right to a family”, without hearing, “this does not mean approving homosexual acts — not at all.”; thus bearing no fruit in the future

maga-catholics in fear think LGBT “persons are no longer seen as a paramount value to be cared for and respected” and refuse the pope’s cultivation and fertilization; thus bearing no fruit in the future

Catholics in LOVE accept the cultivation and fertilization that the successor to the Apostle Peter gives as they go rejoicing to the house of the LORD; thus bearing fruit in the future

Today’s Scriptures

And he gave some as Apostles,…

EPH 4:11

R. (1) Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.

In it are set up judgment seats,…

PS 122:5

“‘Sir, leave it for this year also,

and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it;

it may bear fruit in the future.

If not you can cut it down.’”

LK 13:8
