Tuesday of the Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,

and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

MT 11:28

There are nations, many of them with a Christian majority, which enjoy an abundance of goods, while others are deprived of the necessities of life, and suffer from hunger, disease and all kinds of afflictions.

CHAPTER ONE

DARK CLOUDS OVER A CLOSED WORLD

LACKING A PLAN FOR EVERYONE

Conflict and fear

27. Paradoxically, we have certain ancestral fears that technological development has not succeeded in eliminating; indeed, those fears have been able to hide and spread behind new technologies. Today too, outside the ancient town walls lies the abyss, the territory of the unknown, the wilderness. Whatever comes from there cannot be trusted, for it is unknown, unfamiliar, not part of the village. It is the territory of the “barbarian”, from whom we must defend ourselves at all costs. As a result, new walls are erected for self-preservation, the outside world ceases to exist and leaves only “my” world, to the point that others, no longer considered human beings possessed of an inalienable dignity, become only “them”. Once more, we encounter “the temptation to build a culture of walls, to raise walls, walls in the heart, walls on the land, in order to prevent this encounter with other cultures, with other people. And those who raise walls will end up as slaves within the very walls they have built. They are left without horizons, for they lack this interchange with others”.[26]

We no longer love.

a socialist-catholic in fear grasps for equality by changing the teaching of the assembly so that it alligns with current politics and insist that “technological development” such as birth control be used to eliminate “certain ancestral fears” before i answer the invitation to the dinner

a comfortable-catholic in fear grasps for equality by cleansing the assembly of all politics and insists that “new walls are erected for self-preservation,” so that “the outside world ceases to exist and leaves only “my” world,” before i answer the invitation to the dinner

a maga-catholic in fear grasps for equality with the politics of walls; “a culture of walls, to raise walls, walls in the heart, walls on the land,” walls all around the assembly, and end up as a slave within the very walls i have built; rendering myself unable to answer the invitation to the dinner

Catholics in LOVE do not regard equality with God something to be grasped and engage in politics knowing that dominion is the LORD’s, and he rules the nations, so we praise you, Lord, in the assembly of your people as YOU gather us into the dinner!!!

Today’s Scriptures

did not regard equality with God

something to be grasped.

PHIL 2:6

R. (26a) I will praise you, Lord, in the assembly of your people.

For dominion is the LORD’s,

 and he rules the nations.

PS 22:28

“‘For, I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.’”

LK 14:24
