Christ is the son of Mary: come, let us adore him.

The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

In unity with Eastern Christianity, and commemorating the dedication in 543 of the New Basilica of Saint Mary, built next to the Temple at Jerusalem, this feast celebrates Mary’s “dedication” of herself to God from her infancy, inspired by the Holy Spirit, whose grace had filled her ever since her immaculate conception.

Did the Virgin Mary, who believed by faith and conceived by faith, who was the chosen one from whom our Saviour was born among men, who was created by Christ before Christ was created in her – did she not do the will of the Father?

From a sermon by Saint Augustine

CHAPTER ONE

DARK CLOUDS OVER A CLOSED WORLD

THE ILLUSION OF COMMUNICATION

Shameless aggression

45. Have I “now given free rein to ideologies”???

sometimes i, like “some political figures” (#potus45, the president elect), commit acts that are, “‘neither Christian nor human‘”, or say, “Things that until a few years ago could not be said by anyone without risking the loss of universal respect”, and which, “can now be said with impunity, and in the crudest of terms”…

The Federal Corrections Complex in Terre Haute, Ind., is seen May 22, 2019. Orlando Hall, 49, was executed at the facility shortly before midnight Nov. 19. A day earlier a federal appeals court refused to delay the execution of Hall, one of five men convicted in 1994 of kidnapping and raping a teenager before burying her alive. other times i get so caught up living in “‘one of the most blessed communities of faith on the planet‘”, that i “‘forget that “there are huge economic interests (Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter) operating in the digital world, capable of exercising forms of control as subtle as they are invasive, creating mechanisms for the manipulation of consciences and of the democratic process'”…

at times i overlook that, “‘The way many platforms (LifeSite, Fox and CNN News) work often ends up favouring encounter between persons who think alike, shielding them from debate'” and therefore justifying how for the “first time since 1889…the federal government has carried out an execution in the time between a presidential election and the inauguration of a new president“…

Environmental activist and campaigner Mya-Rose Craig, 18, holds a cardboard sign reading “youth strike for climate” as she sits on the ice floe in the middle of the Arctic Ocean, hundreds of miles above the Arctic Circle, Sept. 20, 2020. Young people from around the world met virtually in Assisi, Italy, Nov. 19-21 to talk about the economy and ecology, including from the point of view of Pope Francis’ encyclical, “Fratelli Tutti, on Fraternity and Social Friendship.” (CNS photo/Natalie Thomas, Reuters)

I pray to become a Catholic in whom a breath of life from God will enter, “‘healing what hurts people, meaning inequality, corruption, individualism and all sorts of social illnesses related to the creation of ‘not so good’ wealth‘”; thus allowing the Lord, my Rock, my mercy and my fortress to bring life to light through the Gospel against, “‘closed circuits”, which “facilitate the spread of fake news and false information, fomenting prejudice and hate.[47]‘”, proving that he is not God of the dead, but of the living!!!

What a beautiful witness this is to each member of the Body of Christ here in our diocese!

Today’s Scriptures

…a breath of life from God entered them.

RV 11:11

R.    (1b) Blessed be the Lord, my Rock!

My mercy and my fortress,

PS 144:2

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death

and brought life to light through the Gospel.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

See 2 Tm 1:10

“…he is not God of the dead, but of the living…”

LK 20:38
