I believe that Archbishop Vigano in his letter to President Trump is, as G. K Chesterton would say; misunderstanding what has happened by stating what will happen-which is (apparently) much easier for him to do!
I believe that Archbishop Vigano’s open letter to President Trump is calling for us Catholics, under the guise of persecution, to organize and behave like “The Mob” in dealing with the most turbulent topics of our day!
What I cannot condone is how St. Mary’s Cathedral is not even allowing “The Vulnerable and The Elderly” to “eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” , by providing a livestreamed Sunday Mass as some parishes are.
As I rest here on the second stop on this pilgrimage I pray that we at the Cathedral parish can keep the faith as St. Paul and Fr. Dolje did!
“e.g. Happy is about 90 miles from Bovina-Umbarger is 18 miles from Hereford-Canyon is 11 miles from Umbarger” This letter of Fr. Dolje will serve as the basis for this bicycle pilgrimage.
At the conclusion of this bicycle pilgrimage on the Monday after Pentecost and the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, my prayer is that Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Mary’s Cathedral and the entire Diocese of Amarillo may “rest in you, O Lord.”.
Today is the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church and the fulfillment of my pledge to Bishop Zurek to stay off Facebook for the Lenten and Easter seasons. With this post I return with trepidation, but how long I remain will be left up to Bishop Zurek.
Blessed are the young of age, for theirs is the Sanctuary door.
“The Wedding of Cana” was the beginning of Jesus’s “Signs” in the Gospel of John, and today it became a sign, (or in this case a “blue light”), to what I perceive is happening in the Diocese of Amarillo.
This is the reason I did not contribute to today’s Second Collection for, The West Texas Catholic!
